Following the announcement of the Government’s roadmap for reopening, we thought we would update you on Lincoln Performing Arts Centre’s plans. Whilst we welcome a timetable with clear milestones that show us the way forward, we do so with an air of cautious optimism.

***An update on our re-opening*** Unfortunately, with the implementation of a new national Lockdown we have no choice but to cancel our re-opening plans for Lincoln Performing Arts Centre until April 2021 at the earliest. If you have booked tickets for any socially distanced live events scheduled during that time you will be contacted shortly.

Make Your Own THE SNOW HARE IN WINTER Christmas Decorations

Make your own The Snow Hare in Winter Decorations and see them featured in the show! Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC), in collaboration with Under the Bed Theatre, are inviting families to get involved with festive craft-making activities and to see their creations become a part of this year’s Christmas show for younger audiences, The Snow Hare in Winter. Themed around the characters and imagery of The Snow Hare in Winter the crafted decoration ideas are made using both recycled and arts and crafts materials, including cork baubles, cardboard tubes and washed-out tin cans to create baubles, bright-eyed owl lamps and tin lanterns.

A Distant Christmas: Rehearsing in 2020

So far (touch wood!) we have only had one performer go into isolation, but unfortunately this has happened twice for her already over the rehearsal period! But in this digital era, a man down doesn’t necessarily mean a man gone. She was still able to contribute to discussions and developments through email and she has been present at every rehearsal via live video connection.

Aakash Odedra 2 Live Performance Moves Online!

In response to new national lockdown restrictions which are due to come into force on Thursday 5 November, the performance by Aakash Odedra 2, which was scheduled for Saturday 7 November on the University of Lincoln campus outside LPAC has now been moved online. Whether you’re a LSFPA student thinking of joining Aakash Odedra 2 or simply want to enjoy some much-needed art in your lockdown life then now is your chance to see the style of work the company creates and performs.

Fire & Light Trail Postponed to January 2021

Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC)’s Fire & Light Trail Postponed In response to new national restrictions, which come into effect on Thursday 5 November, LPAC’s sell-out event Fire & Light Trail, which was warmly anticipated by Lincoln locals has been postponed to the new year. The socially-distanced outdoor event, which was due to take place on Friday 6th November – just one day after the lockdown comes into place – was set to be the venue’s first public and non-digital event since it was forced to close its doors in March.

Venue Receives Vital Funding from HM Government

Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) is delighted to announce that it has received funding from Round 2 of the Culture Recovery Fund to enable it to continue to deliver its vital work in to 2021. University of Lincoln, which owns and operates this city campus theatre and arts centre, applied for and received over £153,000 to cover a shortfall in income caused by the coronavirus pandemic restrictions, safeguarding local jobs and allowing the venue to begin to rebuild.
