On Tuesday 3 December the energetic and enthusiastic cast of our production The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe gathered at Lincoln’s Ice Rink for a festive (and chilly!) afternoon of ice skating, photo shoots and meeting the community of Lincoln…and getting them excited for the Christmas season and our wonderful show! Ice skates were quickly donned, elaborate and magnificent costumes were fastened and fake snow was scattered… the cast were ready, and our photographer Phil Crow was poised and prepared to capture the fun.
Mother Christmas and the White Witch circulated the ice rink meeting excitable children and passersby, whilst characters such as Mr Tumnus, the four children, the beavers and the wolves took to the ice!
Later on the same day our dedicated cast climbed Steep Hill for a second photoshoot on Greenstone Steps near Lincoln Cathedral. The shoot was next to a lamppost (key to the storyline) and was dark, magical and enchanting, very different from the bright, festive and joyful shoot on the ice.
The last week of rehearsals are going very well, costumes are being stitched, the stage has been transformed into an in-the-round set, and the magical wardrobe is in place. It is great fun seeing the show develop into what will be a brilliant Christmas production, and soon all that will be left to do is gear up for the one and a half weeks of musical, magical Christmassy excitement that will hit Lincoln.
