Applications are now open for the Innovate Artist 2025/2026 cohort at Lincoln Arts Centre, made possible by funding from Arts Council England.
This July, 2018 the University of Lincoln are offering 3 summer schools for you to choose from. Through a series of hands on activities and workshops you will explore what it is like to study creative subjects at University. Each 5-day summer school will run from 9:30 to 4:30, Monday to Friday and is targeted at students in year 11, 12, 13 or equivalent.
Architecture and Design: Creative Futures // Monday 16th – Friday 20th July
The purpose of this summer school is to inspire students to value and develop their creative talents and the potential to progress through higher education courses into careers and vocations in the creative industries. The week will be broken down into a series of hands-on taster workshops based round various design disciplines of product design, architecture, communications design, interior design and digital heritage.
Contemporary Dance // Monday 23rd – Friday 27th July
This summer school is an ideal opportunity to get a taster of a typical University Dance course and experience practical, professional training. Highlights include: daily practical technique classes in different contemporary styles, choreographic and creative workshops with industry professionals, additional evening activities, and an end of week sharing performance for family and friends.
Acting and Stage Combat // Monday 30th July – Friday 3rd August
This summer school provides an opportunity to learn the essential techniques for acting and stage combat. However, we also want students to learn some of the key performance skills with movement, improvisation and voice control and consequently build confidence in themselves and their abilities to perform on stage and in everyday life. Students will also have the opportunity to take a qualification in Unarmed Combat awarded by the examining body, The Academy of Performance Combat.
Each five-day course will include a series of hands on activities and workshops, allowing the students to get a taste of what it is like to study creative subjects at the University. The courses will run from 9.30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Best of all, those that meet the eligibility criteria could be able to attend the summer school for free!
