The three-hour show was hosted by Nicola Gilroy, who presents every afternoon on the station. The Nicola Gilroy Show features arts, entertainment and What’s On throughout the region.
On Friday, her show introduced what’s on at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, and explored the facilities, productions and research at the Lincoln School of Performing Arts, with a host of interviews with staff, students and graduates.
Coordinated by Conan Lawrence, Co-director of the Centre for Performance, Innovation and Evaluation and Senior Lecturer in the School of Performing Arts, the broadcast took place as part of a successful partnership with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, following the historic Dambusters performance at RAF Scampton earlier this year.
The performance saw University of Lincoln students perform as part of a collaboration with the Royal Air Force and BBC Radio Lincolnshire, before a televised commemoration of 617 Squadron and the famous Dambusters raid.
Friday’s radio show looked ahead to future collaborations and focused on the impact, outreach and engagement of the School of Performing Arts, the integration of the School and the theatre, and the upcoming LPAC programme.
Weekend at the Asylum is the largest steampunk festival in the world celebrating creativity, imagination and fun.
