Spring 2025: Home is Where the Art Is
Greater Lincolnshire is defined by its heritage past, and in recent years increasingly by its welcoming nature. We have welcomed international students, migrant workers and people seeking refuge.
Following the buzz around last year’s visit, Paines Plough’s award-winning pop-up amphitheatre’ Roundabout is back as part of Pop Out – our festival of Art Outside the Ordinary. At Pop Out you can expect the best new plays, family shows, classical concerts, acclaimed cabaret, stand-up comedy and Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, sitting alongside site-specific performance and hidden gems in unusual spaces. There’s also a free programme of events at our Festival Bar & Music Stage and as part of Lincolnshire’s first Fun Palace held on Sat 1 & Sun 2 October.
As part of Lincoln Comedy Festival we are bringing some huge names to the city; most notably Shappi Khorsandi, Julian Clary, and – as seen on America’s Got Talent – TAPE FACE! Our comedy offering for the season doesn’t stop there, in November we will also be welcoming Omid Djalili and Seann Walsh to the stage.
Our Christmas family show this year is Treasure Island, an action-packed retelling of the classic pirate adventure. Young and old will be mesmerised by a world of swashbuckling excitement, brimming with buccaneers and buried gold.
You may be pleasantly surprised to discover that for the first time we will also be producing a studio Christmas show, Brrr! The Lost Polar Bear for children age 6 years and under. This will be a fantastic first experience of theatre for young children. We are very proud to be the first venue in the city to produce a show of this kind for Christmas.
