2026: Ideas We Hope Stick
As we head into a new year, we’ve been thinking about 2026. Not in a crystal-ball kind of way, but in a practical, roll-your-sleeves-up kind of way. These are some* of our wishes for 2026.
We are recruiting for our fourth year of Routes In at Lincoln Arts Centre and Barbican Creative Hub, funded by Arts Council England.
Two roles are available in our teams, Audience Engagement Assistant and Creative Programmes Assistant! Two positions bursting with creativity, and giving you the chance to kickstart your creative career in Lincoln.
Are you passionate about the arts? Are you interested in working in an arts organisation? Are you looking for a job where you can learn and level up your skills in an encouraging environment? Routes in is designed specifically for you. Created to offer routes into the creative industries that previously may not have been accessible, apply today to be part of our next cohort.
Working at these organisations, post holders will be fully supported in their role. This is an opportunity for artists to find and define their creative space in Lincolnshire, turbo charge their networks, and to begin a long and fruitful career locally.

Ben Anderson, Creative and Executive Director of Lincoln Arts Centre states: “We’re interested in what you bring as an individual and your lived experience, in addition to any employment experience you have. Maybe you don’t know much about ‘the arts’ (Yet!) but you are interested in bringing your skills and your passion to our team. We would need you to work hard, be proactive and look for ways to be helpful, and to be able to spot things you think could be done different.”
Amber Jesson, Creative Programmes Assistant at Lincoln Arts Centre states: “Being a part of the Routes In programme at Lincoln Arts Centre has been transformative for me. It’s given me the confidence, skills, and trust to step outside of my comfort zone, expanding from a background within visual arts into theatre and live events. I’ve gained essential learning and a much deeper understanding of the UK’s arts & cultural landscape, which I know will be invaluable to my career going forward. I feel incredibly grateful to have had the chance to grow in such a supportive and inspiring environment, that has helped me discover my potential.”
Applications are open now and close on Monday 6 April. You can read more about each role and apply by clicking the link on the right hand side of the page.
Fatima and Salima are the closest, coolest, hijabi wearing step-sisters in all of Bradford and they will win the Tiny is Mighty skateboarding competition, there is no doubt about it.
Making bread is hard work, but it would be a lot easier if the lazy farmyard animals got off their reclining sofas and lent a hand! Join our plucky little hen as she finds her own way to get stuff done.
Through March 2026 this moving museum will boldly champion the everyday lives and contributions of 20 female residents of Lincoln. Individuals just like everyday you, who otherwise might go unchampioned. Come and explore The Museum of Me’s first month-long celebration of Womanhood in Lincoln through International Women’s Month 2026.
