2026: Ideas We Hope Stick
As we head into a new year, we’ve been thinking about 2026. Not in a crystal-ball kind of way, but in a practical, roll-your-sleeves-up kind of way. These are some* of our wishes for 2026.
Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC)’s Fire & Light Trail Postponed
In response to new national restrictions, which come into effect on Thursday 5 November, LPAC’s sell-out event Fire & Light Trail, which was warmly anticipated by Lincoln locals has been postponed to the new year.
The socially-distanced outdoor event, which was due to take place on Friday 6th November – just one day after the lockdown comes into place – was set to be the venue’s first public and non-digital event since it was forced to close its doors in March. The Fire & Light Trail is a pop-up outdoor exhibition that weaves its way through illuminated parkland in the centre of Lincoln. Lit by coloured stage lights, Lincoln Arboretum will serve as a backdrop to a stunning Fire Garden, comprised of Fire Stacks, Fire Sculptures, Fire Cans and lanterns, enhanced by pyrotechnics, fire juggling and a mobile forge – the Fire & Light Trail is a unique kinetic experience of heat and light.
Having spoken to the various partners involved in producing the event LPAC is looking to reschedule the Fire & Light Trail on Friday 29 January 2021. It is possible that this might shift depending on the restrictions in place on the day, but the Box Office team will keep audiences informed of the situation. All tickets have been automatically transferred to the new date. People who are unable to attend the new date will be entitled to a full refund of the cost of their tickets.
“It is very disappointing to have to postpone the Fire & Light Trail. The team have worked hard in challenging circumstances to bring this event together. Live events are vital in raising the spirits of so many people, especially at this time of year. We are determined to make the Fire & Light Trail happen but at a time when it is safe to do so.”
