Exploring Gothic notions of performance, Sententia revisits the histories and myths of The Murder Castle, a true crime tale that has been sensationalised by the media for decades. Audiences are invited into a therapy session, assessing the accountability and consequence behind America’s first known serial killer, H. H. Holmes.

Dramatizing this historical period tragedy with contemporary practices, Implicato Theatre devise a 60-minute performance that critically observes the case through Holmes’ confessions. Despite staging Sententia over one hundred years later to these events, audiences will witness how society’s attitudes refuse to change…
