Lincoln Symphony Orchestra | Summer Concert 2025

Sun 29th Jun

The Lincoln Symphony Orchestra returns for its Summer Concert with a wonderfully varied programme, conducted by Nigel Morley and led by Caroline Siriwardena.

The concert opens with the dramatic Overture Le Carnival Romain by Berlioz, which was originally developed as the prelude to the second act of his Opera, Benvenuto Cellini. We continue our opera except theme with the Le Cid Ballet Suite by Massenet, which consists of seven movements based around characteristic Spanish regional dances. After the interval, we will perform the ever popular Second Symphony by Brahms, its lyrical character giving rise to its more common name of the Pastoral Symphony.
