Local History Afternoon

Sun 29th Sep

In this session, three locally based history-related organisations will showcase their work and recent publications.

Representatives from the three societies – the Lincoln Record Society, the Society for Lincolnshire History & Archaeology, and The Survey of Lincoln – will be on hand to talk about their work. There will also be the opportunity to view a range of their recent titles. Contributors to The Survey of Lincoln’s most recent two volumes – Lincoln’s West End Revisited (2022), and Lincoln’s Burial Grounds: Commemorating the City’s Dead (2023) – will give brief illustrated presentations about several of the chapters, and the editor, Andrew Walker, will speak about The Survey’s forthcoming volume Sites of Learning: A History of Education in the City of Lincoln, which will be published later in the year.

If you are interested in discovering more about these groups and how to participate, please do come along.
