Introducing ‘Donate a Coffee’ at the Café Bar
When purchasing your own drink at the Café Bar, you can choose to donate a coffee for a student who may need a little extra support during assessments.
We are proud to announce the upcoming exhibition It’s All a Bit Wabi Sabi, presented by University of Lincoln first year Fine Art students. The exhibition brings together a diverse range of works curated within Project Space Plus, offering contemporary responses to Wabi Sabi drawn from its roots in Japanese philosophy. Featuring over forty pieces, the exhibition reflects the students’ individual engagements with Wabi Sabi, exploring themes such as impermanence, cycles of life, nature, and decay through a variety of materials and approaches.
Across the exhibition, the work collectively examines the beauty and discomfort found in instability, exploring fragile structures ranging from social media systems to physical architecture. Notable themes include nature and its impact on man made environments, the cyclical pressures of social media culture, and the processes of construction and deconstruction.
In line with the Project Space Plus module, students developed their understanding of curatorial practice, working collaboratively with their peers and expanding their ambitions for future professional opportunities. The module emphasised different gallery types and locations, the nuanced processes involved in exhibition design and installation, and the importance of collaborative effort in creating accessible and engaging experiences for both general audiences and art enthusiasts.
We welcome you to visit the exhibition in The Project Space Plus Gallery, located at the entrance of the Peter De Wint Building at the University of Lincoln. The exhibition runs from 30 April to 7 May 2026 and is open to the public and students alike, Monday to Friday, 10am–4pm. Visitors are encouraged to explore the gallery and access further information on individual works via QR codes located throughout the space.
