When do you have to let go of fitting in in order to belong?

In the the fairytale town of Everafter, familiar characters grapple with the expectations of their “Happily Ever Afters.” As Jack, Cinderella, and others navigate their intertwined destinies, a twist of fate leads to chaos. With a musical mashup of R&B, Soul, Jazz and Rock music, the characters embark on a journey, changing their stories, confronting trolls, and discovering the power of forging their own narratives. Ultimately, they unite to rewrite their tales, finding their unique voices in a harmonious finale that celebrates individuality and chosen family.

Following the success of Sheep Soup’s Nel’s Place (formerly Hoarding) Rob Green returns to Lincoln to work with the second year musical theatre students on his new show Folklore. This workshop performance will give you an opportunity to see this brand new musical at this early stage in its development. This show has been commissioned by the Musical Theatre programme, alongside Leeds Conservatoire, demonstrating our commitment to developing new work and new voices in musical theatre.

Rob Green is a singer/songwriter/composer from Nottingham. He draws from the R&B, Soul, Indie, Rock and Gospel music he was raised on to inspire the music he makes. Rob employs a unique and immersive approach to musical direction – composing by ear, coaching vocalists directly to bring out a natural performance, and songwriting in collaboration with other musicians.

As an emerging theatrical composer/MD Rob has already co-written songs and provided musical direction for a wide variety of projects, including; Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Windrush: Movement of the People (co-composer – “God Save Our Dream”), The Frontline produced by Leicester Curve (Musical Director), Nottingham Playhouse’s The Elves and the Shoemaker (Composer/Musical Director),The Leftovers (Musical Director/co-composer), and the Liverpool Everyman Rock & Roll Panto Red Riding Hood in 2023 (Musical director and arrangement). He is currently working on Nel’s Place with Sheep Soup.

Rob is a independent soul/pop singer-songwriter and musician in his own right, with a number of EP releases and an upcoming tour. He has performed at the BBC Proms, is part of the Ivor Novello Academy program, and has supported artists including Earth Wind & Fire, Gabrielle, Roachford and Eric Bibb.
