CALL OUT: Critical Friends

Calling all speak-uppers, big-dreamers, creative-thinkers and anyone who wants to make a difference in the cultural landscape of Lincoln arts – we want you!

We’re searching for volunteers to join our new group of Critical Friends.

Since September 2022 we have been on a journey of transformation through the Future Arts Centre project. A project which saw us co-design a new vision and business plan with over 150 people via public workshops and surveys. As part of this journey, we have become one of only 12 universities nationally to secure major investment from Arts Council England, as part of their National Portfolio of regularly funded Organizations (NPOs).

We are now looking for people who share our new mission, vision, and ethos to support our continued transformation as Critical Friends. The centre’s group of Critical Friends will be made up of 15-20 people including:

  • Students and staff at the University of Lincoln
  • People who live and work in Lincoln/shire
  • Industry colleagues from across the UK

The group will offer advice and guidance, and act as a critical friend and advocate for the centre over the lifetime of the next three years. Members of the group will attend 3 hybrid meetings a year, advocate for the work of the centre in their own networks and attend events as appropriate.

You can read more about what that might entail, and how to apply here:
