Under the Bed Theatre

Under The Bed Theatre create playful, meaningful and uplifting children’s and family theatre. Combining live music, original songs, physical theatre and storytelling, Under The Bed Theatre aim to make audiences smile and laugh, whilst also making them think about the world around them. They make theatre which both children, and their families can enjoy together, so that it is a shared experience for the whole family. 

Under The Bed Theatre comprises of Beth Markey and Josh Baldwin. Both theatre-makers and performers based in the East Midlands, they graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2019. Their first show as a company, Where The Lost Socks Go, debuted at Lincoln Arts Centre as part of Newvolutions Festival, in 2020. 

Since then, Under The Bed have gone on to perform at Brighton Fringe Festival, Tell Your Story Festival, Bedford Fringe Festival, (Spirit of the Fringe Award 2022) The Big Feastival, as well as theatre venues across the Midlands. They have also toured work around libraries in Northamptonshire, supported by Royal and Derngate’s Generate programme and the Northants Cultural Education Partnership. 

Under The Bed Theatre were commissioned by Lincoln Arts Centre to create The Snow Hare in Winter, a Christmas show which was performed in 2021, and then later toured to Belton House in 2022. As well as full length shows, Under The Bed Theatre offer interactive storytelling sessions and music and drama workshops.
