A refreshed Artistic Policy for 2026–2028

We’ve refreshed our Artistic Policy for 2026–2028, helping shape the next phase of programming at Lincoln Arts Centre and guiding the kinds of ideas we’re looking to welcome through our Open to Ideas process.

Lincoln Arts Centre remains committed to being a home for the next generation of artists and artistic ideas. That might mean introducing someone to their first experience of live performance, supporting an artist’s professional debut, or presenting bold new concepts and perspectives on stage.

We want our spaces to be places where people can learn, make, debate and create together, and where artistic work can inspire, challenge and delight audiences.

As we look ahead to the coming seasons, we’re placing particular focus on three areas of programming:

  • High-quality, accessible performance that makes the most of our 444-seat auditorium
  • Creative health activity and interventions connecting arts and wellbeing
  • Outstanding events for children, young people and their families

Artists and companies are welcome to share finished workworks in progress, or early-stage ideas through our Open to Ideas portal.

Projects identified as works in progress may also be considered for Demo, our scratch night format where up to three artists or companies share a 20-minute extract and receive live audience feedback.

As a general guide, we recommend submitting:

  • Finished work up to 10 months in advance of programming
  • Ideas in development 1–2 years in advance

To read the full Artistic Policy and submit an idea, please visit our Open to Ideas page on the Lincoln Arts Centre website.

We look forward to hearing what you’re working on.
