Join Lincoln Excellence for this very special voguing and ballroom showcase, with artists from the Welsh Ballroom Community.
We believe it is really important to celebrate & honour the culture & foundations of Ballroom, so there will be a presentation of the history of Ballroom, followed by a showcase performance from the Welsh Ballroom Community, two open categories for audience participation and a dance party to close the event.
Approximate timings are:
4.30pm – 5.30pm – A presentation on the history of Ballroom by Tayo Sanwo
5.45pm – 7pm – Demonstration of Ballroom categories and a chance to give it a try
7pm – 9pm – DJ dance party
This is not a ball, but will be an opportunity to celebrate the incredible Ballroom community that exists in the UK, and provide an entry point for our Lincoln community who want to find out more about this hugely important scene. This event celebrates queer joy, body positivity and being your authentic self, so get working on your best looks!!

'Reet Good' is a documentary film following the journey of a new creative Live Art residency solely for artists that identify as D/deaf, disabled or nerodiverse. The film documents the first ‘Reet Good’ project, an electric, dynamic and trail-blazing event of Live Performance Art. 'Reet Good' seeks to break down barriers, challenge preconceptions and boldly centre and illuminate the work of Deaf, Disabled and Nuerodivergent Artists. After the screening Pierce Starre will share their process and learning as a producer and creator of a project which places access at the forefront of every element.
